My name is Natasha Sengphrachanh and I’m 16 years old. My mom loves tennis, especially Pete Sampras, and introduced me to the sport when I was 9. She has worked hard to support my love of tennis ever since.
I began by joining recreational programs at Etobicoke Olympium, Humberwood, and played at Grandravine Community Centre with adults. At 10 years old I started practicing weekly at Veneto Tennis Club with private coaches. I now practice and am coached twice a week at Mayfair West and Blackmore Tennis Club. I also regularly play at Pine Point Tennis Club in the summer.
I have worked hard and am now ranked #2 in Canada for my age group U14. This year I won the Aviva U18 National Selection Main Draw, and the UTSC U18 National Selection Main Draw. I came #3rd in the 2016 U18 Rogers Indoor Junior National Tennis Championships. In previous years, I have won gold for both Singles and Doubles at the 2014 Rogers Junior Nationals (U12) and gold for our team at the 2015 Nationals (U14). My dream is to be a professional tennis player like Roger Federer and Serena Williams, and represent Canada in the Olympics. I am very dedicated to this goal – when I’m not practicing with my coaches or playing at Mayfair and tournaments, I am training to improve my ability. My mom spends a lot of time with me in fitness training – she makes me run a lot.
The main reason for this website is I need help continuing with tennis. The sport is very expensive with equipment, coaching, club membership, and paying for tournaments.
It is just me and my mom. She works very hard – two jobs – to support me and my dream, but it is very difficult for her. Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Natasha Sengphrachanh
